Clothing for Events Ltd is committed to ethical, socially responsible and environmentally sustainable business practices in all aspects of our operations. This includes commitment to the purchase of products and services that are manufactured and/or supplied in a way that respects human rights and the environment and reflects responsible health and safety practices.
**Ethical Sourcing Policy
Clothing for Events Ltd actively promotes ethical and responsible sourcing and is committed to:
- Sourcing its products and/or services in an ethical and responsible manner.
- Providing clear guidance to our team members involved in procurement of products and services.
- Promoting the adoption and improvement of ethical business practices.
- Working with our suppliers to improve their workplace, employment and environmental practices.
- Meeting the expectations of our customers, team members and the community.
- Maintaining compliance with applicable laws, regulations and standards; and protecting the reputation of Clothing for Events within the businesses and our brands supplied.
Clothing for Events is SEDEX registered and they help manage our performance around, health & labour rights safety, the environment and business ethics. This allows us to bring together many kinds of different data, standards and certifications, to make informed business decisions, and to drive continuous improvement across our value chains.
**Environmental Policy
Clothing for Events Ltd endeavours to reduce our impact on the local and global environment and is committed to continual environmental improvement.
The company actively promotes the principle of sustainable development and confirms:
- We will meet and where possible exceed all relevant environmental legislation and introduce company standards where legislation does not already exist.
- We will regularly review the environmental impact of our activities, endeavour to reduce our overall environmental impact and prevent waste.
- We seek to reduce the consumption of raw materials in all operations and endeavour to use recycled material where economically feasible.
- We confirm that no AZO or other harmful dyestuffs are used in the production of the fabrics used in our collections. We endeavour to work to the principles of the OEKO-TEK Standard 100 and 4 of our capsule collections currently meet this high industry standard.
- We regulate the manufacturing processes of our suppliers to cause the least practicable impact on the environment and actively support renewable energy.
- We liaise with suppliers and customers to evaluate and improve the company’s environmental performance and improve resource efficiency (including our use of water, energy and raw materials).
- We liaise with authorities and technical organisations to evaluate and improve the company’s environmental performance.
- We periodically review the environmental objectives and targets of the company.
- We are committed to improving our practices in order to minimise the impact of our freight on the environment.
- We also reduce emissions by insuring vehicles that we purchase our regularly maintained and serviced to ensure their efficiency and minimise GHG emissions.
**Modern Slavery Statement and Policy:
Clothing for Events Ltd is committed to ensuring modern slavery is not present in its supply chains and has introduced, and will continue to develop, policy and procedures to manage the way it obtains goods and services to keep its supply chains robust.
Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain. We strongly condemn forcing any individual to accept our employment without one’s wish/will/desire/need.
We are committed to improving our practices to combat slavery and human trafficking.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending March 2019.
Organisational Structure
Clothing for Events designs, sources and manufactures complete uniforms, corporate and work wear for a range of companies.
Our office is based in the UK and we ship and supply garments both across the UK and internationally.
Our supply chains
Our supply chains our assessed to ensure they follow the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business.
In light of the obligation to report on measures to ensure that all parts of our business and supply chain are slavery free we have reviewed our workplace policies and procedures to assess their effectiveness in identifying and tackling modern slavery issues.
Our workplace policies and procedures demonstrate our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.
Due diligence processes for slavery and human trafficking
As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk we have in place systems to:
- Identify and assess potential risk areas in our supply chains.
- Mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains.
- Monitor potential risk areas in our supply chains.
- Protect whistle blowers.
Supplier adherence to our values
We have zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking. To ensure all those in our supply chain and contractors comply with our values we have in place a supply chain compliance program and we intend to review its agreements and dealings with suppliers to ensure compliance with anti-slavery measures.
The compliance of the company is led by Rob Macdonald and William Macdonald.
Training
To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we intend to provide training to our staff. We also require our business partners to provide training to their staff and suppliers and providers.
Our effectiveness in combating slavery and human trafficking
We have appointed an independent third party, SEDEX to conduct an externally facilitated review to bring insights on ways to we can tackle slavery and human trafficking. SEDEX] assess how effective we have been in ensuring that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any part of our business or supply chains.
